The Best Wedding Venues in Gig Harbor, Washington
If you're thinking about getting married in Gig Harbor, you’re probably a lover of the water, small town charm, calm marinas and wooded forests. (Me too) I’ve photographed beautiful weddings here for over ten years and I’m constantly reminded how special this town is. You really can’t beat it.
Here’s a little list of some of my favorite venues in the area. Whether you’re planning a big celebration or something small, there’s something here for every couple. Click any of the venue names to go directly to their website for more information! Happy wedding planning!
The Club at the Boatyard
Right in downtown Gig Harbor, this spot gives you full views of the marina. It’s completely walkable to all the pretty photo locations, especially if you want Mt. Rainier in your photos! You can do an indoor or outdoor ceremony here, and you can even rent a boat to get ready on!
Canterwood Golf and Country Club
Canterwood is tucked away in a quiet part of town and has a more traditional wedding venue feel. Large indoor spaces, a separate ceremony area, and plenty of space for guests. It's very well-staffed and organized and the food is delicious!
Chapel on Echo Bay
Just across the bridge on Fox Island, this little white chapel is one of my favorite spots for a quiet, peaceful wedding. There’s a lawn for outdoor photos and it’s close to some other beach spots you could hop to for portraits. It works well for smaller guest lists, very simple and timeless.
Kopachuck State Park
Kopachuck State Park, located along Henderson Bay, recently (2025) completed a major renovation! The park features a new welcome center, a playground, an outdoor amphitheater, and a multipurpose building available for private rentals, including weddings. Some other upgrades include ADA compliant trails and parking, an event building with kitchen and AV capability. If you're looking for a wedding venue that blends natural beauty and functional event space this is the one! Steps away from beach and forest for beautiful Pacific Northwest vibes, this space would work well for couples wanting a beautiful wedding right on the water’s edge.
Gig Harbor Yacht Club
The Yacht Club is a great indoor option for couples who want some water views photos but protection from that Washington rain. Close to downtown and the indoor reception room is very clean and open.
Vintage Aero Museum
If you're looking for something a little more unique, the Vintage Aero Museum is a fun and unexpected venue. It's located at the Tacoma Narrows Airport and surrounded by antique planes, think of all the fun photos! The space is over 12,000 square feet with polished concrete floors, tall ceilings, and giant hangar doors that open to the runway so guests can watch planes take off and land. It fits up to 300 people and includes built in screens and sound for slideshows or video. Great for couples who want a memorable wedding with a big guest list.
Backyard and Airbnb Weddings
Gig Harbor has some beautiful homes and private properties that are perfect for weddings. I’ve photographed weddings in family backyards, rentals near the water, you could even get married on a boat! If you’re leaning toward a smaller guest list, this option gives you tons of freedom, and honestly, they’re some of my favorites!
Some Planning Tips
• The best time of year for weather is definitely late spring through early fall. Rain is always a possibility here, so plan accordingly.
• Skansie Brothers Park is available for public ceremonies but requires a permit.
• Parking downtown can be limited, so plan ahead or offer a shuttle.
• For photos, golden hour along the harbor is ideal, this is about 1-2 hours before sunset, depending on time of year!
